CMP 1 Student Activities (Games)
Applets, Student Activities CD-ROM
Applets are provided for many units. These interactive activities are designed to be used during the Launch, Explore, Summarize sequence and some can be used at various stages of the instruction, including additional practice with the ideas in the unit. The applets are provided on a Student Activities CD-ROM, which can be purchased from the publisher. To purchase the CD-ROM, go to the publisher's catalog and look for CMP2 and choose student materials by grade. The applets are also available here.
Parent Materials
CMP provides parent letters to permit teachers to keep parents informed about the mathematics in each unit. Each letter provides an overview and some specific mathematical help. Together with some general information to parents, these letters are available at the publisher website and on the TeacherExpress CD-ROM, also available from the publisher. The Connected Mathematics Project at Michigan State University also provides a parent website, on which parents can find information about specific units, including detailed explanation of mathematical concepts and unit goals, as well as more general information about the Connected Mathematics Project.
Special Needs Booklet
Connected Mathematics has been successfully implemented in classrooms that include special education students. Many suggestions by researchers in the field of special education have already been incorporated into the CMP curriculum to make mathematics accessible to special needs students. The CMP Special Needs Handbook (available at the publisher's website) contains a wealth of samples of accommodated materials. The guidelines in this handbook are suggestions, which specific teachers will have to adjust or add to in order to serve specific students. TeacherExpress CD-ROM, ExamView CD-ROM
The Teacher Express CD-ROM includes all Teacher Guide pages, Student pages, Assessment resources, labsheets, Practice and Skills Workbook and guide, the Implementing and Teaching Guide, Parent Guide, and a Special Needs Handbook. The Assessment resources and Practice and Skills Workbook are available in Spanish also. The ExamView Test Generator CD-ROM includes all the items from the Assessment Resources and all the additional Practice and Skills Workbook in both English and Spanish. Items can be edited electronically and saved. Many items are dynamic, and can be used to create multiple versions of the practice sheets. Both available from the publisher (Under CMP2, choose a grade and then technology)
CMP 1 Student Activities (Games)
We have made available the old student activities software that supplements CMP 1. We regret that we are unable to provide technical support for this software; it is provided as is, as a courtesy to those who may wish to use it.
